What is Predict for breast cancer

Predict is a tool that helps patients and doctors see how different treatments with various types of chemotherapy can affect the survival chances of a patient with early and relatively early breast cancer following surgery.

Furthermore, it is possible to view statistics on how radiation therapy affects breast cancer survival.

It is endorsed by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC). Predict uses historical patient data to predict a patient’s probability of survival for up to fifteen years.

Who can use it

It is intended for use by clinicians, patients, and their families. Patients should use it in consultation with a doctor.

Predict is a validated tool that uses data from over 100,000 patients.

It can predict a patient’s probability of survival for up to fifteen years after surgery.

It can be used to compare different treatment options.

This article has been prepared and validated by the undersigned, Hanne Kjær Uhlig. I am a registered nurse (1975, with clinical experience until 2013) and hold an M.Arch. (1983, specializing in industrial design), and I taught at DTU (Technical University of Denmark) for a number of years.

Following the loss of my mother to cancer in 2000 and my own cancer diagnosis in 2024, I founded this non-profit information site “Jeg har Kræft” (I Have Cancer).
