Efter at v\u00e6re blevet diagnosticeret med multipel sklerose i \u00e5r 2000 forv\u00e6rredes hendes tilstand s\u00e5 markant, at hun i 2003 var afh\u00e6ngig af en specialdesignet k\u00f8restol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Frustreret over de konventionelle behandlingers manglende effekt brugte hun sin l\u00e6gefaglige viden til at forske i, hvordan m\u00e5lrettet ern\u00e6ring kunne underst\u00f8tte kroppens celler. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I slutningen af 2007 implementerede hun den intensive protokol p\u00e5 sig selv.
